QEM Lab receives grant from Rutgers for pilot project on antibiotic susceptibility across nutrient conditions

May 5, 2025

Our lab has received a pilot grant from the two Rutgers medical schools (Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and New Jersey Medical School) to study how antibiotic susceptibility of bacteria varies across a wide range of nutrient conditions. This grant enables us to start a new collaboration with Dr. Jason Yang (Department of Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Molecular Genetics, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School), an expert in microbial systems biology and bioengineering. We will use high-throughput growth and molecular phenotyping techniques to characterize the response to antibiotics when many different nutrients simultaneously vary, as occurs in the human body.
