The QEM Lab recently held our fourth annual retreat. This was our second time at Duke Farms in Hillsborough, NJ, which offers a beautiful setting to step back from our daily routines at work and think more broadly about our scientific, academic, and career goals.
We held discussion sessions on our scientific role models, challenges in addressing frontier research questions, emerging tools, the publish-or-perish culture, interdisciplinary collaborations, and choosing a career path. We also had discussions on our lab's current culture and practices, especially how to ensure our lab is welcoming for new members in the future.
Thanks to Rachana for organizing this year and everyone for contributing individual sessions!
