Valeria Cardenas has joined our lab as a master's student in the Biomedical Sciences program. In collaboration with Liisa Veerus, a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Martin Blaser in CABM, she will be working with Rachana to study how the growth of urease-positive bacterial species, especially those present in breastmilk, depends quantitatively on the presence of urea when using it as the sole source of nitrogen.
