Rachana has received our center's postdoctoral award for 2026, in recognition of her outstanding research accomplishments in our lab. Rachana's work has focused on understanding the principles of nutrient limitation in microbes, including understanding the interaction between nutrient limitation and antibiotic susceptibility, the diversity of limitation phenotypes across species and nutrients, and urea limitation in breastmilk bacteria. The award also recognizes her substantial service to our research community, including serving as our lab manager (especially dealing with all our plate reader), leading the CABM Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURE), and serving on the CABM Planning Group.
