Michael attended a workshop on "Coarse-graining Microbial Ecology: from Genes to Physiological Strategies to Communities across Environments" at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics at UC Santa Barbara, where he gave a talk on how ecological interactions between microbes affect mutant fitness (covering the lab's work with Duhita, Tomas, Atharv, Anastasia, Justus, and Smruti and collaboration with Noelle Held).
